The Jesuit Lacrosse Classic will continue in 2011 with the 15th annual edition relocating to Houston, Texas and Strake Jesuit College Preparatory.  After a 14 year run hosted by Georgetown Preparatory School and Gonzaga College High School the classic moves South to warmer weather.  The 2011 edition will follow the format of past classics including the mass and dinner on Saturday night.

Started by two brothers with a passion for lacrosse and a strong calling for helping others, the classic has now become the nation's largest all-Jesuit High School athletic event.  In 1997 Kevin and Don Giblin coached competing teams for two Jesuit high schools, Georgetown Prep and Gonzaga, respectively. Both teams were anxious to find more competitors. With the help of Ed Toussaint ( a Georgetown Prep parent), the brothers conceived the first Jesuit Lacrosse Classic.

At the inaugural 1997 JLC, organizers and coaches discovered that the lacrosse games were only part of what made the weekend great for the players. It was also a unique chance for the boys to meet new people from other places with whom they had a great deal in common. Over the last nine years, sixteen different Jesuit high schools from nine states have participated in the JLC.

Thank you Georgetown Prep and Gonzaga for creating and hosting this Jesuit gathering for 14 years and Bob Flanagan for his help in the transition.
